Foosball Tournament Formats
- Single Elimination: In this format, a player or team is immediately eliminated from the tournament after losing a single match. Only the winners advance to the next rounds. This continues until only one player or team remains as the champion. For example, in an 8-team tournament, 4 teams remain after the first round, 2 after the second, and 1 champion after the final.
- Double Elimination: In this format, a player or team must lose twice to be eliminated. If a player or team loses a match in the Winners’ Bracket, they move to the Losers’ Bracket. A second loss in the Losers’ Bracket results in elimination. The final match is between the last remaining winner of the Winners’ Bracket and the last remaining winner of the Losers’ Bracket. This format provides a second chance and is considered fairer than single elimination.
Rules, Referees, and Attire for VNFC 2025
We hope all players compete fairly and without the need for a referee. However, official ATSA referees will be available upon request. The tournament will follow the ITSF rules, which can be found on the table-soccer.org website. A summary of the rules is also available for reference.
- If one doubles team wears a uniform (same shirt/polo, etc.) and the other doesn’t, the team with the uniform automatically wins the coin toss.
- If both teams wear uniforms or neither does, a coin toss will be used to start the match.
Anti-Doping Policy
While we don’t currently conduct doping tests, we promote fair play and a commitment to a drug-free sport.
- The current list of prohibited substances and methods is available on the WADA website.
- The use of alcohol or other alcoholic substances is prohibited in the playing area.
- The organizers reserve the right to make decisions and changes for any reason.
